Benmore Track
Scenic Walk

The lookout above Benmore Dam is the starting point for the Benmore Track.

 

Be sure to take your camera, so you can take advantage of the many photo opportunities.

Stunning rock formations like this one are common.

The track winds through mature pine and deciduous trees to its northern-most point.

On a fine day, Mt Cook (Aoraki) is visible from here.

The track then doubles back across the hills above the lookout.

The round trip takes about 2 hours.
